Ron Garriques, Motorola’s President for Mobile Device Business, has inadvertantly announced, through his presentation to investors last week, that Motorola will be launching 3G updates of two of their latest handsets, the KRZR and the RIZR. The 3G version of the KRZR, dubbed the K3 and the 3G RIZR, designated the Z8, were revealed in said presentation. Additionally, a GSM/EDGE version of the Motorola Q, as well as a 2nd generation model, the Q2 which will come in HSDPA and EV-DO versions, are still in the works and will be announced at the 3GSM event next month. There was mention of the Motorola SCPL (Scalpel), which has been earning buzz for a year now, in the same presentation, and that it will be joining the broadband (3G or WiMax) family of handsets. More updates as things progress.
